CPA Ambassadors Serve Local Communities Statewide
INDIANAPOLIS — Finding a local professional speaker or media spokesperson can be a difficult task for many community organizations. The Indiana CPA Society’s CPA Ambassadors are professional speakers serving local communities statewide and are trained to provide accurate, informative and interesting presentations on the program topics. The CPA Ambassador program is a public service and is provided at no charge.
Ambassadors are trained in four different areas:
Public interest focuses on how fraud can affect a small business and how businesses can work with CPAs to detect and prevent fraud.
Financial literacy provides insight into personal finance issues, money management, the benefits of saving and investing.
Recruitment focuses on increasing awareness about accounting as a major and why the profession is on the rise, as well as the benefits of the CPA designation.
Small business covers the lifecycle of a business and can provide insight into starting, expanding, and selling a business.
Each area has multiple resources available to Ambassadors such as background information, news releases, key messages and PowerPoint presentations. Ambassadors can use these resources for presentations, group instruction and media interviews.
Presently, thirty Indiana CPA Society members have been trained as CPA Ambassadors. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, in cooperation with state societies, launched the CPA Ambassador program in November 2003.
Currently, more than 7,000 CPAs in public practice, industry, government and education are members of the Society. INCPAS serves the public interest as well as its members. The organization functions as an advocate for the profession through education, public awareness, government relations and promotion of high ethical standards. Programs and services offered by the Society are designed to meet the needs identified for its diverse membership.
