INCPAS Senior Manager Completes Another Year at Institute
Parton completes two years at Institute for Organizational Management produced by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
INDIANAPOLIS – Stephanie Parton, senior manager - member communications, with the Indiana CPA Society, recently completed her second year at Institute for Organization Management (Institute), an intensive week-long nonprofit leadership training program held Jan. 4-8, 2009, at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Parton lives in Greenwood.
The industry leader in nonprofit education, Institute is a four-year program held at five sites each year — one in the winter and four in the summer. Most participants attend the one-week sessions at the same site each year, building valuable relationships with others in the industry and creating a network of idea sharing. Through a combination of required courses and electives, students not only enhance their own organizational management skills but add new fuel to their organizations, making them run more efficiently and effectively.
"Continuing education for association professionals is critical and Institute is the best place for me to continue my education. It provides everything I need to take back to the Indiana CPA Society to make it a better association and me a better manager. In addition to the knowledge I gain each year at Institute, I also build my peer network which is a tremendous asset to my career," said Parton (download photo).
Graduates of Institute receive the IOM graduate recognition, signifying completion of 96 hours of course instruction in association, chamber, and nonprofit management. In addition, participants can earn points toward the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) or Certified Association Executive (CAE) designations.
