CPAs Stay Connected During Difficult Times

Program designed to help Indiana CPA Society members who suddenly found themselves back in the job market.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) is offering its members who suddenly found themselves looking for a job an opportunity to stay connected and network. Herb Benshoof and Rick Sauter with the well-known accounting, finance and technical staffing company Pinnacle Partners are presenting the new program, Staying Connected During Difficult Times.

The first Staying Connected session held recently had 10 members in attendance with one-on-one attention. The next program will be held on April 29 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the INCPAS Professional Development and Conference Center in Indianapolis. Other programs are being planned for May, June and July.

Many who have lost their jobs due to recent layoffs in the current economy are finding themselves back in the job market after many years, and are out of touch with current job-search strategies.

"We have heard from members that our Staying Connected program provided valuable suggestions in their search for the next phase of their careers," said Jennifer Briggs, vice president-member services at INCPAS.

Participants learn tips and tricks for making networking work for them as well as brush up on their interviewing skills. Participants also have the opportunity to share with their peers. A Q&A is included to give them the chance to get any questions they may have answered.

"We are the professional home of Indiana's CPAs. Offering programs for members who are currently out of the work force is just one way we can serve our members' needs. We are happy to help put members in touch with professionals who can aid them in their search and look forward to providing additional programs in the coming months," said Briggs.
