Indiana CPA Society Launches New Web Site
New features on incpas.org offer public and members valuable resources
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana CPA Society recently launched its new web site, incpas.org, offering something for everyone. The newly redesigned web site includes enhanced features for the public, INCPAS members and students. The new site’s easy navigation makes it quicker than before to find beneficial information and services.
The public can access the Society’s Find A CPA service online. Find A CPA is an ad-free database that allows consumers to search for a top-notch, qualified CPA in their area. Organizations also can find out more about volunteer services the Society offers, including CPAs Lead the Way and CPAs Serve Everyday.
Various organizations can also request a CPA speaker through the CPA Ambassador program. CPA Ambassadors speak on a variety of topics including financial literacy. The public will find an abundance of valuable financial literacy information in the Money Sen$e section of the web site as well, everything from how to pay off a home mortgage to how to choose a credit card.
Members and non-members both can register online at incpas.org for continuing professional education courses, pay dues or become a member, or find networking opportunities they might want to attend with their peers. Students and CPA candidates will find answers to their questions about how to become a CPA, the CPA Exam, and much more.
Also part of the new web site is a new online social network for the Society’s 7,000 members who work in public practice, industry, government and education. The interactive online community is the first and only of its kind for CPAs in Indiana. Members can post comments and questions on any topic in the community forums, categorized into professional topics for students, candidates and educators, and general topics for all members. Members also will have the option of posting a profile and/or photo to share with others.
The media is invited to check out the new Media Center. Members of the media can find an INCPAS press kit, executive bios, logos for download, recent press releases, Money Management columns available for media use, a link to upcoming INCPAS events, and more.
Story Ideas
A number of different story ideas or angels are possible with this topic. Some suggestions include the following:
- How do CPAs help small businesses, and why should every business hire or use a CPA?
- As social networking becomes more mainstream in business, how can those in the CPA profession utilize it to bring value to their clients in the general public?
- What are corporate finance professionals doing to address the new risk assessment auditing standards, and how are they controlling audit fees?
- Why do so many CPAs volunteer their time and expertise to provide public service in their communities?
- Since the Indiana CPA Society represents members of the CPA profession in Indiana, how specifically does the Society function as an advocate for the public interest?
- What services offered by the Society can benefit local communities?
CPAs are a great resource for the media. The CPA Ambassador program also provides CPAs for media interviews. To speak with a CPA in your area, contact Jenifer Groth at (317) 726-5010 or jgroth@incpas.org.
