CPAs Attend Biannual INCPAS Leadership Cabinet and Emerging Leaders Alliance Meeting
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana CPAs are attending the Indiana CPA Society Leadership Cabinet and Emerging Leaders Alliance biannual meeting at French Lick Resort Casino in French Lick, May 28-29.
This two-day program aims to help the Society plan and forecast the future of the profession. New this year, attendees will debate three important and relevant CPA issues: the Uniform CPA Examination 150/120 credit hour requirement; transparency in disciplinary matters; and transparency in the peer review process. Individual session topics will include social networking, engaging the future of the CPA profession, diversity in the workplace, and financial literacy.
Additional sessions will include a local history lesson on the French Lick/West Baden area from historian Bob Lane and Robert Half Management Services Division Director Robin Kensinger's presentation on the 30 most common mistakes managers make in an uncertain economy. Additionally, INCPAS Chair Mark Lanning, CPA, Hillenbrand Industries, Inc. and INCPAS Chair-elect Doug Roth, CPA, Do It Best, Corp., will lead the annual business meeting on May 29.
Formed in 1999, the INCPAS Leadership Cabinet is an advisory group representing one percent of the Society’s membership. The creation of the INCPAS Emerging Leaders Alliance was a result of a leadership cabinet meeting in November 2004. Formed in 2005, the ELA is made up of professionals who are considered rising stars within their organizations and have less than 10 years experience in the CPA profession. By working together, the two groups provide guidance to the INCPAS Board of Directors and staff on emerging issues and trends, programs and services, and legal and legislative issues affecting the profession.
