INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana CPA Society's 2007 Indiana CPAs in Business & Industry Conference will be held June 21 at the Ritz Charles in Carmel from 8 a.m.-5p.m.
Planned by CPAs for CPAs, the 2007 Indiana CPAs in Business & Industry Conference offers a wide variety of sessions aimed at bringing attendees up-to-date on today's business environment. From technical and economic updates to in-depth looks at social business trends, the conference will examine current trends and the effect they have on the future business environment.
One significant change is the introduction of social networking sites. With over 300 known social networking sites, myspace.com reaching 110 million users and thefacebook.com adding 20,000 new users each day, it's important to integrate secure business environment applications into overall supervisory and risk management protocols. "Online Social Networking: Applications for Secure Business Environments" will provide an understanding of these communities along with tools, tricks and techniques to prevent vulnerabilities, track employee interaction and mitigate risk.
Led by Charles L. Cohen with the Indiana State Police and Steve DeBrota from the U.S. Attorney's Office, participants will learn why they must not overlook these valuable resources and how to recognize inappropriate conduct, fraud and victimization. Trends in online social networking, such as mobile accessibility and immersive environments also will be covered.
Members of the media are invited to attend individual sessions or the entire conference. Most speakers will be available for interviews immediately following their presentation. If you are interested in attending, please contact Courtney Leamon at (317) 726-5020 or cleamon@incpas.org in advance.
