Christine McKeag Named Outstanding Educator
INDIANAPOLIS - Each year the Indiana CPA Society pays tribute to CPAs who have served their profession and/or communities in a commendable manner. The contributions these professionals make reflect positively on the individuals as well as the CPA profession. Awards were presented Nov. 2 at the Society's annual CPA Celebration. This year's outstanding educator award recipient is from the Evansville area.

Christine McKeag, CPA, CMA, Newburgh - University of Evansville, Evansville
Christine McKeag, CPA, CMA, is dedicated to the success of her students. A professor at the University of Evansville, she has taught and mentored hundreds of students who have become active, contributing professionals. Outside of the classroom, McKeag has coordinated and taught the Becker Conviser CPA Review Course, and worked with the AICPA and ACT to develop test questions for the computerized CPA Exam. For the past six years, McKeag has helped the Society coordinate successful conferences for Indiana accounting educators. She has also served as a trustee for the educational foundation trustee board and a member of the government relations advisory council. At the University of Evansville she serves as assistant dean to the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration while continuing her work as a faculty member. She has played a key role in implementing a new executive MBA program, and serves as the department chair for all business disciplines.

Currently, more than 7,000 CPAs in public practice, industry, government and education are members of the Society. INCPAS serves the public interest as well as its members. The organization functions as an advocate for the profession through education, public awareness, government relations and promotion of high ethical standards.
