Sherrill Rude, CAE
director - leadership and advocacy
Sherrill Rude joined the Society staff in 2007 and currently serves as the Society's director of leadership and advocacy. She is responsible for overseeing the Society's leadership programs, specifically leadership cabinet, the emerging leaders alliance and legislative key persons. She also serves as the Treasurer for the INCPA-PAC, and works with member volunteers of the Government Relations Advisory Council and Tax Resource Advisory Council.
Before joining the Society, Rude spent 14 years with the Indiana Pork Producers Association. Serving most recently as their director of marketing, she was responsible for member education, communications, marketing and consumer education. Rude served on the National Pork Board's Food Safety Task Force, Demand Enhancement Committee and Strategic Planning Task Force. She was an advisor to the Purdue Food & Nutrition Sub-Committee and a founding member of the Indiana Ag Resource Council. As an association program consultant, Rude developed and managed various programs for the Michigan and Kentucky Pork Producers Associations, the Indiana Soybeans Alliance, Center for Food Integrity, International Leadership and the Indiana Primary Health Care Association.
Rude received her bachelor's degree from the College of St. Rose in Albany, N.Y., and majored in elementary education. She received her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in January 2009. Rude is a member of the American Society of Association Executives. She serves as a board member for the Indiana Society of Association Executives. In 2003, she was awarded the Staff Professionalism Award by ISAE.
