High School Ambassador Program

This initiative provides an opportunity for Indiana CPAs to give back to the community and its students as they explore potential careers.

The Indiana CPA Society strives to attract the best and brightest students into the CPA professional and create a better understanding of career opportunities as a CPA.  With your help, we can answer the call for more proactive involvement and achievement of this goal.

As High School Ambassadors, INCPAS staff and/or members establish communication with the school accounting and business classes (and any honor clubs that exist), and help bring more information into the school.  If school administration shows an interest in having a CPA speak to students, set up a job shadow program or attend an upcoming college/career day, contact is made to the High School Ambassdors.  In turn, the Society works directly with each CPA to facilitate the school's requests and provide any materials or support that may be needed.

Additionally, educational programs are available to educators, guidance counselors, school administrators and CPAs speaking to or interacting with students.  The AICPA's Start Here DVD provides hands-on, minds-on teaching tools that will help students understand the relationship between their high school education, higher education and their career alternatives in the world of work and business is available for your use.

This multi-curricular, multi-media DVD can be used to promote educational excellence and educational relevance by connecting the world of education and the world of business and accounting.  The materials are free-of-charge and come complete with learning activities linking real-world business scenarios to academic standards in Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Business Education and Accounting as well as Career Guidance information and video snippets on different careers accounting offers.

The Society, in conjunction with the AICPA, provides Indiana High Schools, Educators and CPA professional with these school-to-work materials.
