  U.S. House Passes Two Provisions Important to CPAs
If it can avoid a White House veto, H.R. 5719 will equalize tax preparer and taxpayer tax return reporting standards and remove cell phone business recordkeeping requirements.

INCPAS Oversight Report Accepted
The Society’s peer review oversight report has been accepted. AICPA Peer Review Oversight Task Force reports examine and aim to enhance peer review programs nationwide.

Exam Takes On New Formatting
The CPA Exam will undergo a major formatting change July 1. Those testing during the third window of 2008 — and thereafter — should become familiar with the new interface.

Are International Auditing Standards Next?
PCAOB standards risk becoming the only auditing rules in the U.S. and abroad that don't use international guidelines as its base. Is it time to give more attention to auditing convergence?
