Fifth Edition Uniform Accountancy Act Released
Recently released to the general public, the fifth edition of the UAA includes revisions to Section 23. They are the first changes to the statute since December 2005.

AMT Tax Form Delay Resolved
Five forms affected by legislation involving the Alternative Minimum Tax are being processed now. Taxpayers who use the forms can file their returns as normal.

How to Lure Those New Hires
A higher salary is still the best incentive for wooing new employees; however, benefits packages are a close second according to a survey by Robert Half.

ARSC Issues New Statement on Standards
Statement on Standards for Accounting and Review Services No. 17 will affect compilations and reviews of financial statements for periods ending on or after Dec. 15, 2008.

Legislative Advocacy Alert


INCPAS 2008 Legislation Watch

HB1197, an expansion of the data-breach bill enacted two years ago, is being monitored by the Society. If passed, the legislation would require the attorney general to publish notice of a breach of security of a system on the attorney general's web site. Find out more.
