  USI Claims National Accounting Title
Students from the University of Southern Indiana won first place at the IMA national Case Study Competition. USI has claimed the number one spot in the INCPAS Case Study Competition from 2004-07.

Disaster Relief for Those Impacted by June Storms
The IDR will provide immediate relief to individuals and businesses impacted by recent flooding in counties that have been declared disaster emergency areas.

Succession Planning Resource Center Launched
The AICPA's Resource Center provides small and medium-sized CPA firms with valuable tools and resources aimed at helping firms prepare a succession plan.

SOX Deadline Extended for Small Businesses
The SEC approved a one-year extension of the compliance date for smaller public companies to meet the Section 404(b) auditor attestation requirement of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Higher Gas Prices Lead to Higher IRS Mileage Rates
In light of rising gas prices, the IRS has increased the optional standard mileage rates to 58.5 cents a mile for the final six months of 2008.

Time is Running Out to Participate in the MAP Survey
Build a more profitable and rewarding practice — participate in the 2008 PCPS/TSCPA National MAP Survey. Over 800 firms already have completed the 2008 National MAP Survey, but only 25 Indiana firms have completed the survey to date. We need 40 firms to participate in order to get detailed analysis and Indiana-specific information. Hurry, the survey closes July 11.
