INDIANA: INCPAS Attends FAF Roundtable on Private Company Reporting
INCPAS Board Member Matt Pletcher, CPA and President & CEO Gary Bolinger attended a roundtable in Atlanta last week to meet face-to-face with FAF staff on their private company plan. Pletcher said "participants seem to be heavily in favor of the FAF proposal, and there was little dissent about its governance or independence from the FASB," and indicated more work was needed. The Society, which supported the Blue-Ribbon Panel's recommendations, encourages you to continue to send comments to the FAF expressing your opinion on the need for change. INDIANA: INCPAS Initiates Professional Standards Bill
On Jan. 9, SB 330 was introduced by Sen. Carlin Yoder and assigned to the Senate Public Policy Committee. It has since passed with a 9-0 vote. This legislation is important to INCPAS members as it facilitates a streamlined process for adoption of professional standards in board of accountancy regulations. The bill is set to go before the Senate for a second reading.
INDIANA: Business Outlook Poll Shows Optimism, Addresses Concerns
A multistate business outlook poll conducted jointly by INCPAS and the Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan state societies indicates that Indiana CPAs expect revenue growth, increased salaries and much more IT spending in 2012. The poll also brought several concerns to the forefront like government regulation, health care costs, and uncertainty on tax laws.
