2009 Case Study Competition Recap
IUPUI Wins INCPAS Case Study Competition
A challenging four weeks for some of Indiana's best and brightest college accounting students concluded on Friday, Oct. 16 at CPA Celebration as the winners were announced for the 10th annual Case Study Competition. IUPUI found themselves victorious in the first place position.
This year's competition brought together 13 case study teams comprised of four undergraduate students and one faculty advisor that presented their case on the effect of the economy on a CPA firm. Once prepared, the written portion of the case was reviewed and judged and the top six teams - announced as finalists - were required to give an oral presentation to a panel of judges in an effort to support their written report statement.
University of Southern Indiana took second place honors while Indiana University rounded out the top three in this year's competition.
Honorable mention finalists this year included Bethel College, Purdue University Calumet and Saint Mary's College.
Students won $1,000 each for first, $750 for second, $500 for third and $100 each for all honorable mention teams. All 32 Indiana colleges and universities with accounting programs are invited each year to participate.
