Executive Committee Q&A: Recognition of CPAs through CPA Celebration

Nov 10, 2021

Why do you think it’s valuable for CPAs to recognize each other through CPA Celebration, the Society’s awards program?

“I have been involved in the CPA profession for over 30 years and found my fellow CPAs consistently strive to give back to the community and profession. We should celebrate each other’s accomplishments and those of our many great leaders. The Indiana CPA Society provides the opportunity for us to do just that by recognizing CPAs around the state who have made tremendous contributions to the profession and their communities. Please take the time to nominate a fellow CPA.”

“The Society’s awards program gives members a chance to reflect on colleagues’ accomplishments, both in the workplace and in civic life, when considering who to nominate. When the Society recognizes Indiana’s CPAs, it gives all of us—including those outside of the profession—a chance to know the remarkable people serving their clients and community, which creates goodwill for the CPA designation. It also can help encourage more participation in events and service opportunities. Congratulations to this year’s award winners!”

“CPAs around the state are doing a variety of service activities outside of their day-to-day jobs. It is valuable to recognize these individuals through the INCPAS awards program for their dedication to the profession and communities. I also find it inspiring to hear how CPAs are making a difference and hope the stories inspire others to do more as well.”

“There are many people making our profession better. They aren’t just doing their job well, they are also changing the profession through their leadership, innovation, advocacy and diversity. Recognizing these individuals through the Society awards program gives us an opportunity to thank them for their dedication, expertise and achievements. These individuals are mentors and leaders in our profession and communities, and can serve as role models to those new to the profession.”

“It is always valuable to know what others in your peer group are doing. When CPAs provide services to their profession, clients, team members and communities that are above and beyond the norm, it advances the profession as well as provides motivation and inspiration for others to follow suit. It also helps to recognize not only the value CPAs provide in all facets of life, but also the value CPAs have received from being a part of this profession.”
