INCPAS Chair Barry Hall, CPA, CGMA, talks about CPA Celebration, the Society’s awards program.
Kruggel Lawton staff have been celebrated at several CPA Celebrations over the years, honoring CPA Exam candidates, outgoing leadership and award winners. What is a favorite memory of these celebrations? What does the recognition mean to you and your firm?
It is always great to see so many deserving winners and celebrate those who have passed the CPA Exam each May at CPA Celebration. Over the years, we at Kruggel Lawton have had our share of winners and reasons to celebrate. Our entire team feels a sense of accomplishment when one of our teammates receives some well-deserved recognition.
My personal favorite memory was when Kevin Kruggel, one of our partners at KL who has also served as chair of the Indiana CPA Society, was able to present the Chair’s Award to Herm Kruggel, his dad and the founder of our firm. That was truly a great evening for Kevin, Herm and Kruggel Lawton!
You previously served on the Awards Selection Committee. What do you want members to know about the selection process?
That we really like tough decisions! There are so many members across the state who are making tremendous contributions to the profession, providing exceptional leadership and giving back to their communities. I encourage you to nominate a member who exhibits those qualities that make the profession great.
What are you most looking forward to at next year’s in-person CPA Celebration on May 13?
The past year and a half has been hard on everyone. Our return to “normal” also seems to continue to have a few setbacks. However, I am confident we will persevere and that better times are ahead. What I look forward to the most next May is being in-person and able to once again celebrate with our friends and colleagues. I hope many of you will make plans to join us!
