MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT WHAT YOU DO:
My passion has always been helping others. I found I can do exactly this at PwC, as our purpose is to build trust in society and solve important problems. By doing this, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the world.

PREVIOUS POSITIONS: When I was a freshman at the University of Notre Dame, I received a letter from PwC about a summer leadership program designed for high-performing college freshmen who self-identify as members of traditionally underrepresented groups in the professional services industry. An upperclassman who lived a few doors down from me—and had interned at PwC—took time to explain the profession and share his experience with PwC over dinner. Later that night, I completed the application. Fast forward 25 years, I now have the privilege of leading PwC’s Indianapolis office as the Office Managing Partner. I am proud of PwC’s 20+ year journey that has led to a firm that embraces inclusion as an essential aspect of its purpose, culture and values. As a result, I am committed to paying it forward by supporting all of our people so every person has the same opportunities to grow to their full potential. While I reach for the stars, you can be certain I am making sure to bring others along with me.

ALMA MATER: University of Notre Dame

INDIANA CPA SOCIETY (INCPAS) INVOLVEMENT: I have been a supporter of the Indiana CPA Society for years. PwC is proud to be an Alliance Pipeline Partner, and we love to welcome INCPAS Scholars to our office every year to learn about what a career at PwC looks like. I am always a phone call away to provide input on INCPAS focus areas and the profession.

When I'm Not at Work

FAMILY: I have been married for 23 years to my beautiful wife, Jamie, and have been blessed with three amazing daughters, Lucy (15), Eva (14), and Lena (11).

Advice for Students Considering the Profession

Do not rely entirely on what others may say about the profession; discover it for yourself! Experience the profession by taking advantage of opportunities to meet the firms, participating in leadership development programs offered and interning to enhance your own understanding. Further, know that your client service experience is relevant, be it working as a server in a restaurant, as a retail associate or cashier. In those jobs you are gaining valuable client service experience that can make you a better audit or tax professional. We work with clients every day, and your ability to meet clients where they are and provide outstanding client service will be key to your success.

Best Advice You've Ever Received

No matter the size of the task or opportunity, give it your full attention. It might not be what you wanted, but it may be exactly what you needed. There is learning and growth in every task and opportunity.
