What is your favorite memory of being an Indiana CPA Society member?
Barry K. Hall, CPA, CGMA
INCPAS Chair
Kruggel Lawton CPAs
“My favorite memories involve people. Whether it is the people I met at a continuing education class or an event, or the staff and my fellow board members. The CPA profession and INCPAS are blessed to have members of the highest integrity. If you ever have the opportunity to get more involved with INCPAS as a committee member or perhaps serve a term on the board, I would strongly encourage you to accept. It will be a very enjoyable and enlightening experience.”
Diane L. Sturek, CPA, MAcc
INCPAS Chair-Elect
Indiana University Kelley School of Business
“I can’t pick just one, so here are a few of my favorites:
- Reconnecting with former students and new CPAs at leadership conferences.
- Hearing respected textbook author and accounting professor, Belvedere Needles, present at the INCPAS Educators Conference.
- Honoring Indiana’s newest CPAs at CPA Celebration.
- Listening to the many ‘war stories’ recounted by members from their years in practice.”

“My favorite memory is how members came together at the beginning of COVID. There was a significant amount of discussion on the Open Forum of members helping members. It was a time CPAs were determined to be essential workers and the ‘Top 3 @ 3’ was started, which has provided members easily accessible information daily. It has clearly been a challenging time, but there has been a lot of progress made and members have come together to support each other.”

INCPAS Vice Chair

“Attending CPA Celebration is definitely a highlight: to be able to network with other CPAs and celebrate the outstanding members of our profession. In 2018, I was honored to receive the Community Service Award but what made it more fun was my husband, John Minnich, was the emcee and presented me with the award.”

“My favorite memory was attending an Advocacy Workshop where Lou Belch, our lobbyist, gave us a legislative preview. It was eye opening to realize how much work is done on behalf of our membership. He made it clear there is so much value in having relationships with our local legislators, so our voices are heard on issues that will have an effect on our profession. The day ended with a tour of the Statehouse, which was incredibly enjoyable as well. If you haven’t attended a workshop, I highly recommend it.”
